Schools

Acklam Road Day Nursery and Montessori Pre School, both graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, are just a short walk away from Acklam Gardens. Local primary and secondary schools rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted include Whinney Banks, Sacred Heart RC Primary Schools, Acklam Grange School and Macmillan Academy. For older children, local colleges Cleveland College of Art and Design and Middlesbrough College are less than three miles away. Middlesbrough is also home to Teesside University for further education.

A choice of doctors and dentists are based less than a mile away, with two hospitals within close proximity of Acklam Gardens. 

There are a number of small shops including a newsagent and an off-licence near the development.  Aldi supermarket is less than two miles away and Sainsbury’s supermarket is two miles away. There are major shopping areas at Hill Street Shopping Centre, Teesside Park Retail and in Middlesbrough town centre, all featuring national retailers, independent shops and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat.
